Obituary of Carol Wess
Carol A. Wess, 63, of Bellefonte, formerly of Cresson, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at home.
Born January 10, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Robert C. and Mary Louise Harlow Cole. On June 10, 1978, she married Lawrence "Larry" J. Wess, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Andrew R. Wess and his fiancé, Miranda, of State College and Matthew J. Wess and his wife, Stephanie, of Pittsburgh; one sister, Mary Elizabeth "Liz" Reese and her husband, Robert, of Boalsburg; one brother, Robert C. Cole and his wife, Karen, of Chester Springs; and many nieces and nephews.
Carol was a graduate of Bishop Carroll High School and St. Francis University, Loretto.
She retired after 30 years as a special education teacher for Appalachia Intermediate Unit 08, Central Cambria School District and Penn Cambria School District.
Carol was a volunteer for Special Olympics in Cambria County and Centre County. She especially valued her time being able to help special students learn as much as possible and to enrich their lives.
She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic church in Bellefonte and the Catholic Daughters of America.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m., on Friday, April 18, 2014, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College.
A funeral mass will be at 12 p.m., on Saturday, April 19, 2014, at St. John's the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 134 E. Bishop Street, Bellefonte, with Father George Jakopac officiating.
Burial will be in Boalsburg Cemetery.
