I just heard about the passing of Mrs. Tennis, and am so saddened that I will not see her smiling face again. She was such a wonderful person. The light that Margaret Tennis brought to the world (both material and otherwise) will be sorely missed. My mother brought lamps to her since the 1960's and she dragged me along. I'd play with the marble game that was still on the porch when I brought my own daughter as a baby to say hello after my mother's passing. Margaret was so warm and wonderful, and she loved her family. Though you may not have know her customers, she always told her customers about you - she was SO proud of all of you. She and Ken will surely continue to watch over all of you and take joy from all of your joys. She's no doubt hard at work on Heaven's lighting now.

Doreen, I was so sorry to learn today of your mother's passing. She was such a fine woman - so friendly and always interesting and helpful. I have such fond memories of visiting her at her shop on numerous occasions - to make purchases, get advice, and learn a bit about the beauty and history of lamps. Her life truly made a positive difference in so many people's lives.

We just had the privilege of seeing Margie honored by several of our state and local representatives at the Boalsburg Memorial Day Celebration on Monday the 26th. Amazing the legacy she leaves behind. Thank you Margie for all you did to honor those that served us and kept us safe here at home. My twin girls remembered your name, which at 11 years old says a lot. They can say they "met" you while joined by other Girl Scouts looking on from the sidelines waiting to lay flowers on the graves at the celebration - which again is pretty cool given you'll always be famous here in our community. RIP and know you will not be forgotten.

You put together lamps for me in 1975 for a home we were building in Muncy, PA. After 36 years those ceiling lights went with me to a true victorian in Williamsport for the last 16 years. You were such a kind, special lady. I loved seeing you in the shop.

My condolences to the family of the wonderful and special Margaret Tennis. How I loved to visit Margaret and Ken, and then Margaret, in the lamp shop and receive their expert advice. Mrs. Tennis knew her craft inside out, she loved Boalsburg and she lived for her family. Her presence, her stories and her warmth will be so missed.
