Obituary of Nancy Mayer

Nancy Mayer, 65, of Pleasant Gap, PA passed away Thursday, May 29, 2014 She was born to the late George H. and Catherine Grimme Mayer, February 12, 1949, in Johnstown, PA. Nancy graduated from Indiana High School in 1967, received a Bachelor's degree from Florida Atlantic University, and a Master's degree from the Pennsylvania State University. She worked as a psychologist at the state correctional institution at Rockview until she retired in January 2013. Nancy was a caring and loving individual dedicated to making an impact on the lives of the inmates she counseled. Her family and friends will always remember her dry wit and generosity of spirit. Nancy is survived by: her brother Louis Mayer, his wife, Susan of State College, PA. She is also survived by her nephew Jonathan, his wife Tounine and her great-nephews Henry and Will of State College, PA, and niece Amy Mayer, of Ann Arbor, MI. Nancy was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed ushering and lecturing. A celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 14, at 10:00 AM at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 2221 N. Oak Lane State College, PA 16803 with Reverend Ronald Miller officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to Trinity Lutheran Church 2221 N. Oak Lave, State College, PA 16803.
