Dear family of Peter, My name is Jim Sellers and I was a graduate student under Peter at Clemson University fro 1977 to 1979. I recently searched his name and discovered the news of his death which saddened me. I have wonderful memories of trout fishing the Chattooga river with him in our hip waders and a few dove hunts with professors Tom Wooten and Ben Cool. I currently reside in Arizona. It was men like Peter who enriched my life in many ways. God Bless you all. Jim Sellers

Uncle Pete was more of an uncle to me than many of my own blood uncles. He was a tremendous man who was always fun to be around, and who welcomed us and treated us like family each and every time we were in his company. The memories of childhood vacations to Seneca, Boalsburg and around the country in the back of the Ford station wagon I will treasure forever.

I was never with Pete when he was not pleasant and gracious. He carried a perpetual smile and a ready laugh. He knew how to have fun and had an outward focus always ready to help others. I will miss Pete and his salsa.

Uncle Pete was my Dad's best friend for most of his life. When I was a little girl he would come over to help my parents assemble Christmas gifts from Santa. Growing up we considered his children to be just like cousins. Our families vacationed together and enjoyed Penn State tailgates for years. Uncle Pete and Dad were like brothers, sharing the best and worst of times together. I remember many late nights when they would stay up talking and laughing. Generations of my family knew Uncle Pete and his family. There are no words to describe how huge this loss is, especially for my Dad. He will be fondly remembered by all of us. Until we meet again...
