Obituary of Ruth Puskarich

Ruth Friday Puskarich, 88, of State College, died Monday, September 22, 2014 at The Village at Penn State Atrium, State College. Born July 5, 1926, in Burgettstown, she was the daughter of the late George Dewey and Blanche Gillespie Woodling Friday. On January 26, 1968 she married George F. Puskarich who preceded her in death on August 28, 2013. She is survived by three grandchildren, Joseph Allen, Daniel E. and his wife, Brittany, and Kathleen Sue LeCouvre. Also surviving are one daughter-in-law, Stephanie S. LeCouvre, and four stepchildren and their families respectively. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Patrick Joseph LeCouvre and one daughter, Dawn Georgette Handy. She loved traveling, especially during the time she and George spent stationed in Germany. She loved learning new languages and visiting exciting places and cultures. She also loved music and playing the piano. Friends will be received from 6 until 8 p.m., on Thursday, September 25, 2014 in the Lion's Den at The Village at Penn State, 260 Lions Hill Rd, State College. Burial will be in Mt. Prospect Cemetery in Hickory, Pennsylvania. Memorial contributions may be made to Pets Come First, 2451 General Potter Hwy, Centre Hall, PA 16828.
