Obituary of Virginia Sunday

Virginia R. Sunday, 92, of State College, died Saturday, October 4, 2014 at The Fairways at Juniper Village. Born May 31, 1922 in Huntingdon, she was the daughter of Fred and Mabel Endress Ross. On July 11, 1943, she married Norman R. Sunday, Sr. who preceded her in death in 2002. She is survived by two children, Norman R. Sunday, Jr. and his wife, Patricia, of Johnstown, and Linda Carter, of Carlisle; four grandchildren, Robert Sunday, Derek Sunday, David Sunday, and Joseph Carter; and eight great-grandchildren, Ashton, Mia, Caiden, Olivia, Patricia, Shailee, Gabrial, and Riley Sunday. Virginia is also survived by her siblings, Max Ross and his wife, Jean, of Jackson, OH, and Beverly Putt and her husband, Homer, of Berrysburg. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two siblings; Ronald Ross and Larry Ross, and a great-granddaughter, Kylie Sunday. Virginia was a graduate of State College High School. She was employed as a secretary for State College Area High School She was a member of Order of Eastern Star- State College. Visitation will be 9:30-11 am, on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College. Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Koch Funeral Home with Mr. Norman R. Sunday, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hall cemetery.
