Obituary of Nevin Hoy

Nevin Lee Hoy, 83, formerly of State College, died Sunday, October 12, 2014 at his son's residence in Huntingdon. Born August 14, 1931 in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late Willard and Genevieve Lucas Hoy. He married Camilla Skinner who survives at home. He is survived by four children, Ron Hoy of State College, Ken Hoy and his partner, Deb Secrest, of Huntingdon, Randy Hoy of Lamar, Patty Hoy of Lock Haven, three step children, John Mitchell of State College, Lori Cooper and her husband, Mike, of Colorado, Jeff Mitchell of State College, two brothers, Homer Hoy and his wife, Delores, of Bellefonte, Irvin Hoy and his wife, Sarah, of Howard, two sisters, Ruth Lingle and her husband Bill, of State College, Edith Benner of Julian, three grandchildren and four step grandchildren. Nevin was a graduate of Bellefonte High School. He was employed by Thomas Scientific in State College as a laboratory technician. After retiring he was owner/operator of Hoy Landscaping in State College. He was a life member of Alpha Fire Company and was an avid hunter and gardener. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on October 17, 2014, at Koch Funeral Home with the Reverend P. Stevens Lynn officiating. Burial will be in Spring Creek Cemetery.
