Obituary of Ann Isenberg
Ann Marie Isenberg, 61, of State College died Thursday, March 24. Born in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Edna (Saby) Isenberg.
Survivors include her aunts, Helen (Saby) Hargleroad of State College and Mary Saby of Hendersonville, North Carolina. She was also the niece of the late Margaret (Saby) Bastuscheck of State College and John Saby of Hendersonville, North Carolina.
Dr. Isenberg was a graduate of State College High School and Penn State University. She received advanced degrees from Michigan State University, including a Ph.D. in Psychology following a predoctoral internship at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She was employed as a Clinical Psychologist at Altoona Hospital and subsequently at SunPointe Health in State College.
She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, and Psi Chi. She completed extensive research in family genealogy and had an avid interest in books, history and politics. She participated in the Civil War Roundtable and worked in local and state political efforts.
A memorial service will be held at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in State College on Monday, April 4 at 9:30 in the morning.
Contributions in lieu of flowers may be sent to St. Andrews Episcopal Church, State College, or the Schlow Centre Region Library, State College.
