Obituary of Patricia Byers

Patricia Lee "Pat" Byers, 75, of Boalsburg, died Thursday, November 20, 2014 at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College. Born September 29, 1939, in Derry Township, she was the daughter of the late Samuel and Freda J. Stouffer Andrews. On September 3, 1960 she married Robert A. Byers, who survives. Also surviving are two children, Lisa J. Byers of Boalsburg and Robert A. "Bob" Byers Jr. and his wife, Shelly, of State College; one sister, Doris J. Hankey and her husband, Gene, of Derry; two brothers, Samuel W. Andrews Jr. and his wife, Karen, of Ligonier and Ray D. Andrews of Derry; two grandchildren, Ryan Byers of State College and Alicia Gutierrez and her husband, Martin, of Bellefonte; two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Kaitlyn Gutierrez of Bellefonte. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews who she thought of often. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Buncie. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed the companionship of her two dogs, Toby and Jamie. She was interested in the wellbeing and welfare of others and enjoyed baking, especially cookies. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. on Monday, November 24, 2014 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College. Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at Grace Lutheran Church, 205 S Garner St, State College, with the Reverend P. Stevens Lynn officiating. There will be an additional visitation at 2 p.m. at the church, prior to the memorial service. Memorial contributions may be made to Pets Come First, 2451 General Potter Hwy, Centre Hall, PA 16828.
