Obituary of Edward Jordan
Edward P. Jordan, 80, of State College passed away on Monday, December 15, 2014 at Elmcroft of State College.
Born on May 2, 1934, in State College, he was the son of the late George Boal and Sarah Rose Allbert Jordan. On March 13, 1965, he married his high school sweetheart and "Right-Hand Girl", Marilyn James, his lovely wife of nearly 50 years, who survives.
Also surviving are six children, Edward P. Jordan, Jr. of North Carolina, Ronald A. Jordan and his wife, Kim, of Virginia Beach, VA, Timothy A. Jordan and his wife, Jill, of Tallahassee, FL, Steven J. Uber and his wife, Brenda, of Buffalo Mills, Cynthia J. Uber and her partner Cris Poole, of Tucson, AZ and Wendy S. Brate and husband, Thomas, of Clarksville, NY; two brothers, George Jordan and his wife, Polly, of Unionville and David Jordan and his wife, Julia, of Milroy; four sisters, Rita Schager of Aurora, OH, Evelyn Baylson of State College, Teresa Siwulich and her husband, John, of Atlanta, GA and Frances Knisley of Spring Mills; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Leo, Fred, Earl and Charles and two sisters, Marie and Elsie.
Ed was a graduate of State College High School, Class of 1954. He was a U.S. Air Force Crew chief for the F-89 Scorpion from 1954 thru 1958. He earned an associate degree from Williamsport Technical School (Penn College) after his service. He retired from Cornell University in 1999, where he was a research support specialist in the Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering Department. He also worked at Penn State in their Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering Department from 1961 thru 1977.
Ed enjoyed boating, water skiing, gardening, photography and tinkering. He was a life member of both the American Legion Post 245 and Sampson Air Force Base Veterans Association.
Visitation will be 6 until 8 p.m., on Thursday, December 18, 2014, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College.
An additional visitation will be 10 until 11 a.m., on Friday, December 19, 2014, at the funeral home. Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Ann Graves officiating.
Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park.
