Dear Rob and family,
My sincere condolences to you on the passing of your father. Though I don't think I met him when I knew you in high school, he sounds like a wonderful man of God, dedicated to love, music and justice.
Da-Shih and my mother passed away a month ago so we are on the same path.
In the words of a gravely ill St. Francis of Assisi, "I am not a coward who fears death, for God by his grace has so united me with Himself that I no longer care if I live or die."
May it be so for your father, as well.
