Obituary of Peter Rusanowsky Jr.

Peter Paul Rusanowsky Jr., 68, of Boalsburg, died on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Mount Nittany Medical Center, State College. Born on July 18, 1946, in Milford, CT., he was the son of the late Peter Paul and Leona Tabaka Rusanowsky. On November 6, 1971 he married Jean Elizabeth Worsham who survives. Also surviving are three children, Robert J. Rusanowsky and his wife, Karen, of Harrisburg, Jennifer L. Rider and her husband, Robert, of Warriors Mark and Mark A. Rusanowsky and his wife, Megan, of Berwick. He had one brother, Daniel Rusanowsky, and one sister, Maryann Pielmeir both residing in Camden, Delaware. He has five grandchildren: Christopher, Ashley, Benjamin, Evelyn, & Ellie. He was a 1964 graduate of Caesar Rodney High School in Dover, DE. He received Bachelors degrees in Math, Physics, and Chemistry from Delaware State University in 1975. He was honorably discharged as a Lieutenant after having served 10 years in the United States Navy & Vietnam War. He retired from PP&L after 25 years as a nuclear engineer. Peter was a member of the VFW & was a rescue diver for Luzerne County Sheriff's Department. He enjoyed fishing, coin collecting, & scuba diving. A memorial service with military honors will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Fairbrook United Methodist Church, 4201 West Whitehall Road, Pa Furnace,with the Reverend Gene McCallips officiating. Burial will be at sea by the U.S. Navy. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Wounded Warriors, P.O. Box 758517 Topeka, Kansas 66675.
