Obituary of Diane Lucas

Diane Byers Lucas, 57, of Pennsylvania Furnace, died Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at home. Born December 26, 1957, in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of the late Gene Byers and Leona Byrnes Byers of Pennsylvania Furnace. In addition to her mother, she is survived by one son, Dylan F. Lucas of Pennsylvania Furnace; two brothers, Gary Byers and his wife, Marilyn, of Boalsburg and Gene "Bud" Byers and his wife, Sharon, of Pennsylvania Furnace and her companion Chuck McCloskey of Milesburg. She was a 1975 graduate of State College High School. Diane was a baker for Weis Market in the Hills Plaza, State College. She was a civil war buff, particularly intrigued by the Gettysburg Battle Fields. She loved animals and was known as mom to many of Dylan's friends. Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m., on Friday, January 23, 2015 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State college. Memorial service will be at 1 p.m., on Saturday, January 24, 2015, at Park Forest Baptist Church, 3030 Carnegie Drive, State College, with the Reverend James Nolten officiating.
