Obituary of Lois Stinson

Lois Decker Stinson, 87, of State College, died Sunday, March 1, 2015, at Foxdale Village, State College. Born July 14, 1927 in Dalton, MA, She was the daughter of the late Clarence C. and Ethel M. (Rice) Decker. She married Richard Floyd Stinson, on March 27, 1954, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her children, Leigh Stinson, of Chambersburg, PA; Laurie (Stinson) and Dan Eudy, of Morehead City, NC; Glenn Stinson, of Kirkland, WA; Ruby and Paul Stinson, of Centre Hall, PA; Cathy (Stinson) Rohrs, of Stratford, CT; a sister, Joyce Fitzgerald, of Clifton Springs, NY; grandchildren, Melissa, Keith, Colleen, Jennifer, Andrew, Margaret, Richard, Max, Elizabeth, Joseph and six great grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her older sister, Jean (Decker) Hopper. Lois was a member of Iota Beta of Chi Omega Sorority; a member of Grace Lutheran Church of State College where she began an ecumenical Sunday School "Disciples Class" for children with special needs; and she organized and ran the church library for forty-three years. Visitation will be 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2015 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Grace Lutheran Church, 205 South Garner Street, State College, with the Pastor P. Stevens Lynn officiating. Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Grace Lutheran Church, Lois Stinson Memorial Fund, 205 S Garner St, State College, PA 16801.
