My sincere condolences to the Helton family and the many other friends who are missing Claude. I grew up with Claude in Mount Union where we were classmates and friends. In his early years Claude was friendly, caring, and principled. He was sometimes introverted, but he had a gentle strength. I am not surprised, but I am pleased to see how he continued to touch many people's lives.

I can't believe he's gone. I just spoke to him last week. I am on vacation, and unfortunately cannot make it back for the funeral. I just want to give you my condolences. Claude was a very nice person always wanting to please. He truly loved life. I don't know what happened, but, he will be sourly missed. Best wishes.

We were blessed to have Claude in our neighborhood. He always had a smile and a friendly wave. He was eager to help anyone and everyone and was truly a godly man. Claude was one of my dearest friends, and I am sure his family and close friends will miss him dearly. I remember the time I bought the huge TV and called him from Best Buy to help me get it in the car. Of course, then I asked him to help me take it into my house; he was happy to help out. I always tried to get him to take a few extra minutes on break, but he never would. I hope you rest in peace my friend!

We knew Claude from being Notre Dame fans with him and going on a trip to South Bend, IN for one of the games.
A bigger Notre Dame fan than Claude there wasn't.
Notre Dame du Lac is with Claude now.
