Obituary of Joanne Hacker

Joanne Hacker, 75, died at Brookline Village on Friday, November, 2010, after a long illness of Alzheimer's. Born January 4, 1935 in Columbia, the daughter of the late Martin and B. Elizabeth Good. Joanne graduated from East Donegal High School in 1953. She is survived by her loving husband Carl E. Hacker of 57 years. Joanne and Carl have owned and operated Duffy's Boalsburg Tavern for forty years, with great pride and dedication to the Boalsburg community. Joanne was full of passion for her family and also knew how important it was to give back to her community. Serving as a member of the Jr. Women's Club, Grace Lutheran Church, and completed many years of volunteerism. Joanne loved bowling for The Duffy's Diamonds, going out to eat, shopping and the movies. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Sirianni, Cindy Graham, Chuck and Kim Hacker; six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, all of Centre County. Also surviving is her brother and sister-in-law Dr. Raymond and Rita Good of Lancaster. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, November 15, 2010, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. Her memorial service will be at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, November 16, at the funeral home with Reverend P. Stevens Lynn of Grace Lutheran Church officiating.
