Obituary of Helen Bokach
Helen Bokach, 87, of State College, died Monday, November 15, 2010, at The Fairways at Brookline Village.
Born July 15, 1923, in Denbo, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Anna Kovach Bokach. Following the death of her father, she was raised by her mother and stepfather, Andrew Strizak.
She is survived by two sisters, Margaret Stefanko and her husband, Robert, of State College, and Irene S. Pollock of Willoughby, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was predeceased by two brothers Michael and Peter Bokach, and a sister, Mary Lozak.
She was an assistant librarian with the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences at Penn State, for many years.
Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. on Thursday, November 18, at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College.
A Panachida will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 18, at The Nativity of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Philipsburg with the Very Reverend John Horosky officiating.
Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 19, at The Nativity of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church in Uniontown with her nephew, the Very Reverend Mark Leasure, officiating.
Burial will be in Mount St. Macrina Cemetery, Uniontown.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Nativity of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 420 Laura Street, Philipsburg, PA 16866.
