Drue, Kelly & Charlie -
There are no words to fully express how saddened we are to hear of Rod's passing. We are in disbelief and shock that he is gone. The State College community has lost a good man and friend and will feel his absence for a long time to come.
We hope your memories of happy times with Rod can somehow help you through this loss and your journey through life without Rod next to you. He will be with you always in your hearts.
Please reach out to all of your friends and family for support in the coming weeks and months.
With love and hugs, Sue & Jim Ross

Dear Drue, Kelly and Charlie,
The shock and sadness I feel about Rod passing is nothing compared to the great loss and hole left in your hearts and spirits. He was a generous man and a great cook. There is a fond memory of him splitting a steamed lobster tail for me. It was a gesture that showed his appreciation of good food, attention to detail and friends.
Through all of our adventures, it seemed that Rod was quietly in the background, providing great support in an unassuming manner. (Unless of course the game was on).
As the pain eases over time, the emptiness you feel will be filled with sweet memories. May those memories sustain you and let you find peace.
Thinking of you all and sending warmth and love your way.
~~Barbra

What a wonderful tribute, he may not have lived a long life, but he certainly embrased it with a lot of drive and passion. So many people's lives are far better for having know him and your family. I am so sorry for your loss and sadness, but hopefully someday you all can relive the fond memories without shedding a tear.
