Obituary of Mary K. Mierley

Mary K. Mierley, 73, of State College, died Thursday, April 9, 2015, at Mt. Nittany Medical Center, State College. Born September 16, 1941, in Clearfield, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth T. and Jean Ann Logan Garman. On October 8, 1970, she married Paul A. Mierley, who preceded her in death. She is survived by two daughters, Margo Clouser of Boalsburg, and Heather Rainear and her husband, Charles, of Carversville; one step-son, David Mierley and his wife, Angie, of Bellefonte; three siblings, Barbara Ann Cochran and her husband, Richard, of State College, Kenneth Garman of Kissimmee, FL and Linda Louise Richards and her husband, Michael, of Mays Landing, NJ; six grandchildren, Jennifer, Tyler, Paige, Marissa, Marin and Matthew; one great-granddaughter, Gianna and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Kimberly Anne and Bernadette Paige. Mary and her husband worked hard at building Mierley Volkswagen-Audi in State College. Along with her husband, Mary was an avid Penn State supporter, holding season tickets to all the home football games. But her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren. Mary also participated in the annual Nittany Valley Symphony Fashion Show Benefit. Visitation will be from 1 until 4 pm on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College. Funeral service will be held at 10 am on Monday, April 13, 2015 at the funeral home with the Reverend Brent Book officiating. Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park.
