Obituary of Ernestine N. Noll
Ernestine “Dimpy” N. Noll, 96, a native of State College, died on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Juniper Village at Brookline, State College.
Born December 7, 1918, in State College, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary Kennedy Nixon. On August 8, 1946, she married Charles J. Noll who preceded her in death on April 17, 1989.
She is survived by two sons, Michael E. Noll of Omaha, Nebraska and Joseph N. Noll of Beaufort, South Carolina; two granddaughters, Meghan Pierro of Beaufort, South Carolina and Caitlin Noll of Columbia, South Carolina and two great-grandchildren, Peyton and Greyson Pierro. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Leland Nixon and one sister, Alice Linton.
Dimpy was a 1936 graduate of State College High School.
She began her career at Gimbels in Philadelphia and later worked in the Penn State Library System and at the Centre Furnace Mansion.
She was a member of State College Presbyterian Church.
Funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College, with the Reverend Dean Lindsey officiating.
Burial will be in Centre County Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Centre County Historical Society, 1001 E College Ave, State College, PA 16801.
