I was a Chi Omega at Penn State and loved "Bert". She was a great advisor and a steady, calm influence to all of us. She kept us in line with grace and dignity. She was my role model, as I now am an advisor at Villanova University. My condolences are with you all. Thanks for sharing her with us for so many years!

I was so truly sorry to read about Bert's passing. I am a PSU Chi Omega and have so many fond memories of Bert from my years there. She was so wonderful to all of us and truly cared about "her girls!" Her years with the Chi Os will long be remembered. She was a fabulous advisor. My sincerest condolences to her family members.
May God bless you, Bert, and may you rest in peace with Him in His heaven.

My thoughts and prayers for your family duriing this difficult time.. Your mother was an incredible influence in my life and the lives of my sorority sisters. She was very dedicated to all of us and was our parental influence while we were at college away from home. She encouraged us to make smart decisions and was a guiding light and role model for us during our college years as actives in Chi Omega.
We all have very fond memories and are so very grateful for all she did for us. May your memories and love for her comfort you.
A baby owl appeared on our patio last night and stayed and sat for 6 hours in the same place. It was a rare occurrence and when I heard the news of your mom's passing - I couldn't help but think of the very special person she was to so many of us and her impact on Nu Gamma.
Rest in peace Mrs. Goerder .

Dear Goerder Family, Bert will be sadly missed. I always loved her great spirit, feisty attitude and dedication to Penn State. Bert was "always there" for the sports teams, sorority, the community, etc. She was one grand lady and her presence will certainly leave a huge void in our hearts and our lives. Thank you, Bert, for all that you did for everyone!
Sincerely, Elaine Brown

I have so many wonderful memories of Bert. From working with her at alumni functions and bowl games to seeing her and Bob at the top row of Rec Hall for every gymnastics meet to working with her as Chi O advisor when I was Panhellenic Advisor to numerous Lion Ambassador events and most recently as a volunteer at the All-Sports Museum. She was always delightful to be around. Bert made everything fun and interesting, including showing off her sexy legs. I will never forget Bert. She made Penn Staters become better people. Godspeed Bert!
