. Sonnet for My Father
If I could search the universe for gold
or alloys of a far more noble worth
than meets the eye, the value would be earth
when matched against my love for you untold.
It is a love that grows by quantum leap
too energized to measure by a law
of any physics not permitting flaw,
and as it grows, your fatherhood shall reap;
As surely as the gravity does pull
two objects, will I demonstrate my care
for your endeavors, and the life we share,
as father-daughter, rich and meaningful;
The universe expands, as does my love
for you, father, it warms the sun above.
