. Sonnet for My Father
If I could search the universe for gold
or alloys of a far more noble worth
than meets the eye, the value would be earth
when matched against my love for you untold.
It is a love that grows by quantum leap
too energized to measure by a law
of any physics not permitting flaw,
and as it grows, your fatherhood shall reap;
As surely as the gravity does pull
two objects, will I demonstrate my care
for your endeavors, and the life we share,
as father-daughter, rich and meaningful;
The universe expands, as does my love
for you, father, it warms the sun above.
Miss you, Dad. love, Mary Lou

I really enjoyed getting to know Uncle Bill in his later years and corresponding with him on numerous occasions. It meant so much to me to have some one-on-one time with him during our visit to State College a few years ago. We were able to connect about family and other things, I will so cherish those memories.

He sounds like a fascinating person. I am sure it is a comfort to know he is with the Lord. There is great joy in that, even in your grief. The grief will lessen, like a tide going out, with waves of it still hitting even years later, but always return to the joy. You will see him again.
