I too was shocked and saddened to hear of Eleanor's passing. I worked with her at World Campus for several years, and she was really entertaining and fun to work with. We both got a kick out of realizing that we shared many of the same world views. She thoughtfully bought her coworkers little mirrors from the Smithsonian that I have in my desk to this day, and I think of her each time I use it. Best wishes to her family, who she loved dearly.

Dear Bernie,
We were shocked and saddened to learn of the death of Eleanor. She was such a lovely person, a person who always had a smile on her face. We have not seen you and Eleanor at church for some time, although Jim thought he saw you leaving church several months ago. We are very sorry we missed you. It is obvious that your boys, Bernie, Andy and Sam are doing well. And with seven grand children of our own we know exactly how important the grand daughter was to Eleanor. She will definitely miss her as we will as well. We are so sorry for your loss. Rest assured she is in Heaven watching over you and the boys and the rest of the family.
With our Sympathy, Prayers, and Love,
Jim and Jane Lynch

Eleanor was a good friend to me. We worked together at Penn State. I lost touch with her the past couple of years, but she will always be in my memory as a generous, fun loving person, dedicated to her family and loyal to her friends. She will be missed!
