Dick Campbell referred my partner, Frank Welsh, and me to Charlie back in March of 1976 and and Charlie gave us our first business loan when we bought Uni-Tec (Consulting Engineers, Surveyors, soil and concrete testing) from Bob Reese. I think the bank was called the Farmers Bank of Port Matilda. We continued our banking relationship with Charlie for many years. Frank and I appreciated the confidence that Charlie had in us as young entrepreneurs.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Please find comfort in God's sure promise of a resurrection as set forth in the Bible. (Consider Acts 24:15; John 5:28,29) Those who are raised to life will have the prospect of never again being subjected to misery, sickness, or death. (Revelation 21:4) I hope that reflecting on these thoughts will give you some relief during this difficult time.

Dear Anne,
I am so glad my father had you. I believe you made this leg of his life journey so good. Daddy helped to provide the loving home in which we grew up before he knew you. He taught all of us to be independent but dependable, both courageous and kind. He was always there for us. Always. He taught by example an a few words. We learned our work came first, but we were also entitled to fun. Much of the time our life was quite happy, but as I'm sure you know, some of the time it was not. Daddy faced my mother's illness with the same patience, kindness and fortitude he faced everything else. He was an admirable and honorable man who knew how to keep a promise. He always did his best to provide stability in our home when our mother could not. He also tried to make sure we made time for fun. When it became necessary for him to move forward with his life, I am glad you found each other quickly. I think you became the partner in life he deserved and you made him happy. I am so glad he got a chance to live like that. The last portion of his life couldn't have been easy for you. Thank you for taking such good care of him when he needed the same patience, kindness and fortitude he showed to our mother. Thank you for making sure he had fun. I am truly sorry for your loss.
