Obituary of Kari Lynn Schlegel

Kari Lynn Schlegel, 24, of Bellefonte, died Thursday, December 15, 2016 and was embraced in the arms of God's loving care. Born March 4, 1992 in State College, she was the daughter of Jay W. and Debra L. Kerstetter Schlegel. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her sister, Mindy Schlegel of Bellefonte, three aunts, one uncle, five cousins along with many great aunts and great uncles. Kari graduated from Bellefonte Area High School in 2010. She attended and graduated from South Hills Business School in 2012 with an associate degree in Graphic Design. Kari enjoyed working as a dietary Aide at Centre Crest Nursing Facility in Bellefonte. Kari was a flutist in the Bellefonte High School Marching and Concert Band and also played for the Bellefonte Community Band. She loved playing with her four cats, doing personalized graphic designs, playing video games in her spare time and going to Disney World. Kari lived her life treating others as she wanted to be treated and did whatever she could to help those less fortunate than her. To all of her family and friends, Kari was known for her kind heart and gentle spirit. She was loved by her family, friends and co-workers; all of whom miss her dearly. Visitation will be from 5-8 P.M. on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College. Funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Koch Funeral Home with Celebrant Jackie Hook officiating. Interment will be in Pine Hall cemetery on December 29, 2016, weather permitting. Memorial contributions may be made in the name of Kari Lynn Schlegel to First National Bank of State College for a future scholarship or annual award for an aspiring student.
