Obituary of Jane Ann McDowell Felsmann
Jane Ann McDowell, 51, of State College, passed away at home on Feb. 6th after a long illness.
Jane was born in Philipsburg, PA to James and Nancy McDowell on October 7th 1965. She attended high school at Philipsburg-Osceola Area H.S. and graduated in 1984. She went on to earn a B.S. in Nursing from Penn State University, a M.S. in Adult Health from Pace University, Pleasantville N.Y., and her Nurse Practioner's Certification from New York University, N.Y., N.Y. Most recently, she worked as a Project Director for The Penn State School of Nursing. Jane was previously employed as a Nurse Practioner in Endocrinology at Mount Nittany Physican's Group, State College, and in various nursing and nurse educator positions at Yale-New Haven Hospital, New Haven, CT. She loved reading lots of books, vacationing by the sea, hiking, hanging out with the gardening group, and spending time with her entire extended family and many friends.
Jane is survived by her husband, Chris Felsmann, son Nate, and daughter Meg; In addition to her mother and father, she is also survived by sisters Judy Decker (Tim), Philipsburg, and Susan McDowell-Muff (Brian), Mason Ohio , and brother Jim (LeeAnn), Pittsburgh PA; Her nephews, Chris Decker (Theresa) of Bellefonte PA, Dan Decker, Philipsburg, Brian Muff, Mason OH, Aidan Cleary, Colorado Springs, CO, and Tripp and Noah McDowell, Pittsburgh, PA. She is also survived by nieces Holly Foley (Chris) Philipsburg PA, Kaitlyn and Emily McDowell-Muff, Mason OH, Kylie Cleary, Colorado Springs, CO, Shay McDowell, Pittsburgh, PA, and Julia, Daisy, and Charlotte DeWitt of Branford CT., her father and mother in-laws, Kenneth and Roberta Felsmann, Monroe CT, and sister in-laws, Catherine Cleary (Pete), Colorado Springs, CO, and Kara Felsmann, Branford, CT, and numerous grand nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street, State College on Friday Feb. 10th from 4:00 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Presque Isle Street, Philipsburg, PA on Saturday, Feb. 11th at 11:00 a.m.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to to all those who knew Jane, reached out during her prolonged illness, and made her smile through it all.
