Obituary of Shirley R. Keller
Shirley Keller, 85, a longtime resident of State College, PA, passed away at Harrison Senior Living, Georgetown, DE surrounded by her family on May 1, 2017. She was the wife of the late Elwood Keller, who passed away in 2009 after 55 years of marriage.
Born May 8, 1931 in Bellefonte, she was the daughter of J. Earl Rimmey and Elsie Herman Rimmey. Shirley was a 1949 graduate of Bellefonte High School. She was employed by The Pennsylvania State University in the department of Agriculture, retiring in 1991. An avid Pittsburgh Pirates and Penn State football fan, Shirley also enjoyed bridge, travel and singing. She was a 50 year member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church of State College and being a member of the choir was especially meaningful to her.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Hall, and her husband, Kenneth of Ocean View, DE; her son, James Keller, his wife, Cheryl and their daughter, Madeleine, of Avon CT. Preceding her in death was her son, E. Eugene Keller.
Shirley will be lovingly missed by her family and all who knew her. Her beautiful voice, friendliness and smile provided joy for her assisted living family at Atria, Salisbury MD in her later years.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation for all of those who cared for Shirley.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Shirley's memory may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 250 E. College Ave, State College, PA 16801 or Alzheimer's Association, 270 Walker Dr., Suite 15, State College PA 16801
