I was online today looking at my old case and wanted to google the attorney who saved me! I just wanted to call him and say hello I was so saddened to find out this tragedy he was such an amazing person and always assured me every time we entered the courtroom it would be just fine! My condolences go out to his family!

I use to work for Mike for several years. He was the BEST boss ever. He had a sense of humor and a great personality. All he ever talked about was his daughter, Ashley. She was his world. He always showed off photos of her lol. He was a great dad. I kept in contact with him once in a blue moon when he closed down his firm just to say "hey" and to check in on him. After I haven't heard from him in a while, I decided to google him today to find contact info for him because he wasn't responding to my e-mails. I ran across a google listing of an obituary for him and immediately, my heart felt as though it was coming out of my chest. I became weak and physically ill. This is heartbreaking for me. I cannot believe it. My heart is broken. I send his family my deepest prayers. I felt like I also knew his wife, Wendy and daughter Ashley (although I never met them) because he ALWAYS talked about them lol he really LOVED you guys. Mike was such a great man. I am going to miss him dearly. RIP big guy. What an awesome human being.

I wish to express my condolences to Wendy and Ashley, and the rest of the Blumenthal family. I met Mike at a time when he was considering moving from Maryland and we talked often before he moved. I remember how often he spoke of both of you both. Please know how important you both were to him.

To the family (Ashley):
I am so sorry to hear of this. I had texted him several times and got no response. He was my son's attorney for many years and I was thankful for all the time and effort that he put into the case. He always had a soft spoken, mild mannered disposition about his self, but always got his point over to those judges. Even after he relocated to Pennsylvania, he came back to Maryland to finalize the last parts of my son's case. He was my son's attorney but he became a friend to me. And I am really going to miss him. We talked about my grands and his daughter, Ashley. Your father loved you very much, he spoke of that often. This is such a shock to me. We just don't know how much time we have on this earth, we have to live everyday like it is our last. Now we only have our memories and good times to keep them in our hearts. I WILL NEVER FORGET WHAT HE DID FOR MY SON. That last trip to Maryland landed my son being released a few months later. HE IS OUT TODAY BECAUSE OF GOD AND MR. BLUMENTHAL AND GOING WELL. YOUR FATHER IS AND WAS A GREAT MAN.......

I met Mike for the first time on squash court in Rec Hall. He was one of the most passionate person I've ever met for the sport. I respected that a lot in him apart from his jolliness he used to spread around him.
We all squash group members have a special place for you Mike and it is really hard for me to imagine that whenever I would post a request on our squash group page, you will not be the first person to respond.
Dear Mike, I just hope that you find peace wherever you are.
Goodbye dear friend.

Mike, at first I couldn't process the news of your passing. Getting to play squash with you was some of the best times I had at Penn State.
It is difficult to imagine playing in your absence. You always had a smile on your face and a kind word of advice to offer. You always wanted to learn and make yourself better.
I hope there is a squash court in heaven and you spread you good cheer there too.

Mike, I am so really sorry. It took me this long and I still cannot get over the fact that I will not get to play squash with you, to see your smiling face again, to hear your light hearted jokes ever. I promise I would go easy on you one last time if you want to play :'(.
You were the most sportive gentlemen I have known. You were my friend more than anything else. Rec-hall squash courts won't be the same without you.
I really wanted to tell you the next time I met, that I mentioned you in my dissertation Ackowledgements as my Squash buddy. I wish I have met you one last time to convey this to you. But unfortunately that next time never came.
I will MISS you Mike!
To Ashley, I have never met you but I knew how proud Mike was of you. He would always talk to us about you. You were his life. Take care!

I am writing this with a very heavy heart. Mike was a great human being who made my visits to the squash courts more than just to play. We spent many hours in the court. I cannot find words to say what loss I have suffered by his sudden departure. I am honored to have known him and call him my friend.
I will miss you Mike. I am sorry my friend, I could not see you one more time. We did not get time to work on your backhand.
To Ashley, I have never met you, but your father was a great man and he loved you a lot. The only other thing he would talk to me apart from improving his squash was how well you are doing. Everytime, I could see in his eyes and his words how proud he was of you.

This is a very sad and tragic news for me. Mike was a great man with a kind heart. He was an inspiration to many around him and had helped me many times with a lot things as I coached him for squash. My heart goes out to the family members and friends. Mike and I often talked about a lot of personal matters and from what I learnt in my little time with him are that Mike was full of life and had a deep sense of gratitude towards his family and his daughter meant the world to him. Countless times we had to cancel training as he would want to go spend time with his daughter. I may have never have met you Ashley but I can tell you this; your father was a great man and loved you dearly.
My deepest condolences and regards to family members and friends.

I played squash with Mike ---even last week, he was a fierce and fair competitor. He was always in a good mood and smiling. This is so shocking and sudden it is hard to put my mind around it, even though our contact was brief I will miss him a lot.

I'm so sorry to hear of Mike's passing. I'll never forget his unwavering voice as we all sang Hotel Jerry Yeisley just a few years ago at Carl's life celebration. I know he was a devoted father, and a gentle soul and he will be sorely missed by all.
