Obituary of Louis J Folen

Louis J. Folen 99, of Bellefonte, PA passed away on Friday, September 15, 2017, at his residence.

Born April 23, 1918, in Jessup PA, Louis was the son of the late Joseph William and Josephine Maldonato Folen.

On November 13, 1948, in Philadelphia, he married Jane Marie Dougherty, who preceded him in death on January 30, 1973.

He is survived by his sons, Peter Joseph Folen, and his wife, Dorinda, of Altoona, Louis J. "Mike" Folen and his wife, Linda of Greenville, NC, and Robert V. Folen of Bellefonte.

In addition to his wife and parents, Lou was preceded in death by his five siblings, Catherine Kleingina, Leonard Xavier Folen, Joseph W Folen, Vincent James Folen, and Victor Alexander Folen, and his grandson, Peter Michael Folen.

After graduating from the University of Scranton, he served in the US Army during WWII attaining the rank of 1st Lieutenant before being honorably discharged. He attended Hahnemann Medical College before going to work for Pfizer Laboratories, as a pharmaceutical sales representative.

Lou loved playing tennis, Bridge and Pinochle well into his 90's.

Services will be private.
