Dear Ed,
Our sincere sympathy for the loss of your beloved wife, Dot. We will keep you and your family in prayer for comfort and healing. Bob and I were remembering the time we attended the Citizens Police Academy with you and Dot and John and Cathy Rideout. We all had a lot of fun together.
God bless you and your wonderful family.

Dear Ed,
We are saddened to learn of the death of Dot. It is never easy to lose a loved one; it is particularly difficult to lose your wife. Fortunately, our faith teaches us that this is not the end that she is in Heaven with our Lord and that you will be reunited with her. She was blessed with a long life and a loving, devoted husband. Although we have not seen you or Dot in many years, Jane and I have fond memories of her while we traveled together on business trips. We will morn your loss and pray for you and your family.
With our deepest sympathy,
Jim and Jane
