Obituary of Dorothy J. Simpson Corbett

Dorothy J. Simpson Corbett, 83, a resident of State College died Saturday, October 7, 2017 at her residence. Born December 24, 1933 in York she was the daughter of the late John and Sarah Sunday Swigert. In 1989, in State College, she married Edward S. Corbett who survives at home. Dot is also survived by one son, Jeffrey Simpson, and his wife, Cindy and step-children, Beth Lloyd and her husband, Perry, Sue Cristensen and her husband, Greg and Brian Corbett; six grandchildren Kelly Fisher, Aaron Simpson, Sierra Cristensen, Stephanie Spellman, Jenna Lloyd, and Samantha Corbett; and five great grandchildren Jesse Simpson, Emma Simpson, Levi Fisher, Melody Spellman, and Olivia Spellman. In addition to her parents, Dot was preceded in death by her first husband E. Dale Simpson. Dot was a graduate of William Penn High School in York, Pa. She was retired from the Soil Conservation Service where she was an administrative assistant. She was a member of Mount Nittany United Methodist Church and a former member of Centre Squares square dancing club. Dot was a vibrant and energetic woman who loved life, her family, crafting, and shopping for great deals! She will be greatly missed by all who were blessed to know her. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
