Obituary of Cheryl Lee Lichtenstein
Cheryl Lee Lichtenstein, 64, of State College, died Sunday, November 12, 2017, at Mt. Nittany Medical Center.
Born October 31, 1953, in Indianapolis, IN she was the daughter of the late Delbert and Helen Higgs Bixler.
In addition to her husband, Jeffrey, Cheryl is survived by her son, Matthew Pasternak of Grand Rapids, MI; stepchildren, Sacha Moore of Brooklyn, NY, Maya Lichtenstein of White Haven, PA, and Ezer Lichtenstein of Brooklyn, NY; two grandchildren, Charlotte Moore and Hudson Moore; and her beloved dogs, Charlie and Ella.
In addition to her parents, Cheryl is predeceased in death by her brother, John Curl.
Cheryl graduated from Carmel High School in 1968. She attended Ball State University as a music major. She was a member of Congregation Brit Shalom. Cheryl was a talented musician, playing both the piano and classical guitar as well as sang in the choir at the synagogue and was a member of the Connecticut Choral Society. She was especially fond of elephants and birds, particularly her parrot, Azizi
Visitation will be 1:00p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm, Wednesday, at the funeral home with Rabbi David Ostrich officiating.
Burial will follow at Centre County Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration by going to the website theaftd.org, in memory of Cheryl Lee Lichtenstein.
