When I think of Aunt Gene, I see sparkling eyes, a quick smile and hear her trademark laugh. Along with Uncle Clifton, she raised a remarkable family. It was always fun when they visited the farm. She was such a dear friend to her sister / my mother. And yes, she will be missed, although we know she is in a better place today back with her husband and the extended family and friends.

My dearest Gene, (Priscilla, Elizabeth), like a mother, reminded me of my mother, she will be dearly missed. I took care of her and her husband, totally devoted to each other and their family. They would have celebrated their 77th anniversary this year. She shared her experiences, her joys, her faith, poems/ pictures/ and jokes sent to her by family on her IPad, and her concerns, always trying to hide her pain. She loved the Yellowwood trees out her living room window, the fresh cut flowers her daughter brought in, the jellies and bruschetta her son-in-law made, the visits from all of her family members, and her latest legacy, little Genevieve. She watched for the first leaf to fall, from her bed, last fall. She found joy in all things. I cried with her, (and many did), when she couldn’t hide her pain or wavered, only lasting a short while. She would then apologize for not being strong. Never a complainer, only when fitting and would speak her mind. What a powerhouse. Loved her so.
Gene, enjoy seeing Clifton again, no longer being in pain, and enjoy walking in the forests again. ❤️

Gene brought light to my mother's life when they were neighbors in Brookline. She so much enjoyed talking with her. Janet, I mourn with you and your family the loss of this dear woman.

Farewell to the one who modeled patience and love all my life. She was kindness even when I broke a precious china cup or spilled beet juice all over the carpet. She did her best to to give the love of Christ to all who came near. You are already missed.
