Obituary of Genevieve Rose Kamp
Genevieve (Gene) Rose Ameigh Kamp, 95, of State College, died Thursday, January 10, 2019 at Juniper Village at Brookline. Her husband of 73 years, Roy Clifton Kamp died April 25, 2015. She is survived by: her sister, Louise Pierce of Columbia Crossroads, PA; her five children, David Kamp and his wife, Linda, of Cincinnati, OH; Dorothy Holmgren and her husband, John, of Springfield, VA; Marilyn Cogansparger and her husband, Lee, of Lancaster, PA; Lawrence Kamp and his wife, Pamela, of Meigs, GA; and Janet Heasley and her husband, Paul, of State College; eleven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She graduated from Southside High School and was an active member of the Southside Baptist Church for over 50 years. She was a devout Christian who shared her faith every day. Gene was a homemaker who lovingly raised five children. She loved the outdoors, was an avid gardener, bird watcher and hiker. Gene also enjoyed camping and traveling with Clifton, square dancing and dinner/game nights with friends. She was talented at knitting, sewing, crocheting, and weaving. After retirement, she and Clifton spent 21 happy years in Leesburg, FL.
Gene will be missed by the many friends that she touched during her life's journey. A sincere thank you to the wonderful staff for their beautiful and loving care of our parents during their 12 years of residence while at Juniper Village at Brookline.
A visitation will be from 10 until 11 a.m., on Monday, April 1, 2019 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m., at the funeral home, with the Reverend Dean Lindsey officiating. Genevieve will be buried next to her husband in Forest Lawn Memorial Park in North Chemung, New York at the convenience of the family.
Memorial donations may be sent to The Salvation Army, Operation Smiles, or the Employee Fund at Juniper Village at Brookline.
