Obituary of Emma Irene Frank

Emma Irene Frank, 94, of State College, died Monday, June 3, 2019, at home. Born September 18, 1924, in Stormstown, she was the daughter of the late Irvin and Elsie Hartsock Thomas. On February 11, 1943 she married Thomas L. Frank, who preceded her in death. She is survived by two children, David Ray Frank and his wife, Cheryl, of Minneola, FL, Billie Schiesler and her husband, Jeffry L., of Port Matilda; four grandchildren, Dani Schiesler, Alexandria Housel, Richard Thomas Frank and Wendy Lee Andrick; four great-grandchildren, Shae, Taylor and Riley Housel and Maya Andrick. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard Thomas Frank and siblings, Mary Jane Thomas, Melvin E. "Bus" Thomas, Betty Thomas, Ethel Rae Thomas and Dorothy Thomas. Emma graduated from State College High School. She worked at Penn State University in the Milk Testing Lab. Her hobbies included gardening and upholstering. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Friday, June 7, 2019 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College. Burial will be in Graysville Cemetery following the visitation. Arrangements are under the care of Koch Funeral Home, State College.
