Dick and I were great friends. We both worked for Deere. Dick was stoic and of few words. I blabbed and complained all the time. But we had a common bond somehow and we enjoyed each other's company immensely. I'm going to miss him. God bless you Debbie and "kids".

Growing up, every year my family spent two weeks of the summer at Aunt Daune’s and Uncle Kermit’s farm. A highlight for me every time was when my cousin Dick would be there to toss a baseball with me or take me for a ride on my uncle’s tractor. He truly was the older brother I never had.

My memories of Uncle Dick include tractors, trucks, the farm and red barn, Christmas with snow beyond belief, big open fields, and snow mobile rides. Uncle Dick - You will always be missed but leave us with many warm memories. My love and sympathy to Aunt Debbie, my cousins Jonathan, Stephanie, and Jameson, and their wonderful families. Love, Kristy

My condolences to Dick's family. When I started working for John Deere I spent about 10 months riding with Dick every other week as a training program. Spent time at training sessions with him and putting on training programs for dealer personnel. He was a great tutor and mentor. We even got to go up in his air plane one day to get away from the getting ready for a training session. He was a great pilot. He will be remembered as a very compassionate and giving person.

Dick and I became TM's in Indiana and I enjoyed working with him. We ended up sharing rooms often at JD events. He was a extremely responsible and conscientious when dealing with dealers and fellow employees. I always had a tremendous about of respect for the way he handled himself and considered him a valuable friend.

I remember going to the NASCAR races in Pocono with "Uncle Dick", and when Chad Little wrecked right in front of us one of those years, he muttered under his breath "At least our hood will be on TV now, sponsorship money well spent." That is "Uncle Dick" quite, funny and always participating with the family. Growing up we spent Easter's, Christmas and sometimes Thanksgiving together as the Lawrence's and Lietzke's. My deepest sympathy's go out to my Aunt Debbie, Cousins Johnathan, Stephanie and Jamison and their families. Love you guys and wish I could be there to cry, laugh, hug and share the memories.
With sympathy, love and prayers,
"Cousin" Andy & Meghan, Margaret & Lilias

Dick and I shared many work experiences and fun times over the past 55 years. When I visited him at his home in the fall of 2018 the two of us retold each other stories of our experiences together. That was special. And now he is at peace and rest with his Savior in heaven and suffers no more.

Dick will be missed by all of the John Deere people that knew him. He followed me as a territory manager in Michigan and I enjoyed working with him throughout his John Deere career. May God bless you and the family.
