Final Resting Place

Doug was one of my very first Drum Majors and also went on the very first trip I took to Europe with students from the State High Band. Louise and I traveled home from the airport in Harrisburg with Doug and his parents when we returned from Europe. It was the day after a fire at Spectra Wood and Doug did not know about it. His parents allowed Doug to share stories about the joy of the trip all of the way back to State College and waited until he was home to tell him the bad news. I will always remember that day and will remember Doug with great fondness. Louise and I send you our sincere condolences.
Doug was my first “best friend,” as we both grew up in Daleview. I’ll always remember playing football in the backyard, camping in the Roeshot’s Airstream trailer and rides on Mr. Roeshot’s scooter. It was no surprise to see Doug become a doctor, as he was always looking out for the other guy and was full of love in his heart. My prayers go out to the entire Roeshot family. – John Walker
