Obituary of Melvin B. Rockey

Melvin B. "Mel" Rockey, 90, of Boalsburg, died Friday, February 26, 2021, at home.

Born December 27, 1930, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late John B. Rockey and Ann McDonald Ogden. On October 6, 1951 he married Janet V. "Jan" Hann, who survives.

Mel was a 1948 graduate of State College High School. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1959 from Penn State University in General Agriculture. He received a Master of Science degree in 1961 also from Penn State University in Agriculture.

Mel served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

He retired from Penn State University after 30 years serving as an Administrator of the College of Agriculture. Following his retirement, he worked another 30+ years as a Real Estate Agent for Kissinger Bigatel and Brower.

Mel was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

No memorial service will be held at this time.

Mel will be interred in the Boalsburg Cemetery.
