Rick was a member of the Spring Creek Chapter of Trout Unlimited for more than 30 years and the Board of Directors for 10 years and served as the Treasurer for 6 years. In addition, he volunteered for every conservation and citizen science event that the chapter undertook.

Rick was recognized for his contributions to the Chapter and the Spring Creek Watershed with the awarding of the 2017 Robert F. Eberhart Order of the Sulphur Award.

He was also a great person, who never missed a meeting, and who will be missed by all who knew him and were able to call him a friend.
