Agnes was a wonderful friend and neighbor to me and my family in Lexington, Massachusetts. I will never forget how kind she was--and how much fun. I first met her before we became neighbors. Agnes was on playground duty one morning during school drop-off. My daughter didn't want me to leave, and I was headed to work. I felt terrible. Agnes gently said to me about my daughter, "Don't worry, she'll be fine." And I knew that was true. That took a huge weight off my shoulders--and helped me realize that I was not hurting my child by being a mother with a job. That same daughter is grown-up beautifully and thriving. I'll be forever grateful to Agnes for her support.
Later, by chance, we became next-door neighbors with Agnes and George--and I can't think of better neighbors. Their love for each other was inspiring--and their childhood stories fascinating. They were kind, fun, active, and always welcomed our youngest daughter to pick the tiny strawberries in their garden. We had lots of wonderful conversations, took road trips to Maine for lobster, celebrated with them, and simply knew how special a friendship we had with them in our years together in Lexington.
George and family, know that we love Agnes and treasure the years we had together in Lexington. Love to you and all your beautiful family. Agnes was a gem--and expressed such love for all of you. I am grateful beyond measure for her beautiful life.

Dear Family, I am so sorry and saddened for the loss of your beautiful Agnes...Mrs. Cavigelli as I knew her. It's been so many years, but I have memories from school years, our brothers and our parents as good friends. I wish you comfort and peace in your memories of Agnes. Lorrie Maddox Arlan
