Mem was such a special, easy-going, loving person. She took me in as her own not very long after meeting me and for that I will always be grateful. Her personality made nearly every moment with her memorable. But one of my favorite memories with her is when we decided to go out for one of our regular Sunday drives and she wanted to show me something a decent distance from home. However, on the way back, she took a wrong turn or two and a couple hours later we realized we were all the way in Maryland. We found a tiny roadside diner for lunch, laughed when we realized the iced tea we ordered was sweet but we didn't know until after we dumped our Sweet-n-Low in our cups. We drove home still just as relaxed as ever. Going that far out of the way didn't faze Mem one bit -- it was simply part of the day's adventure. Her go-with-the-flow attitude about things was really inspiring to me. She is and will continue to be so deeply missed.
