Hello Cassandra, Tina, and Dr.Maranas, so sorry to hear about Janna. I'm Really sad and shocked to hear about her. She always treated all her students as her extended family and took personal interest in each of our growth and well being. I hope she found peace and I will hope and pray that you have the strength to cope with her loss. She is always watching over you from above.

We met Janna a year ago at the State College Adventist Church and she became part of her church family. She enjoyed the worship, the fellowship, and the friendship. We have the HOPE to see her again on the resurrection morning.
May the Lord give peace and comfort to the family.

Janna was an incredible professor that was dedicated to her students. I was particularly impacted by her generosity, dedication, and kindness. I worked with Janna for 3 years and she was mentoring me these past couple of months in applying for graduate school. I would not be here if it weren't for Janna. Recently, we would have long calls, just talking about how our lives are changing and sharing personal stories. I am incredibly grateful and honored to have shared these last memories with Janna. She will always be in my thoughts and I will never forget the impact she has made on me. She will be missed and I send condolences to her family.

Life is finite, but when someone is taken so suddenly and so young, it is especially difficult to bear. I find myself thinking of Janna many times throughout my day. She was a truly gifted woman, with so much to give to her colleagues and students - and she gave it easily. I cannot remember Janna without also thinking about how difficult these times must be for you, her family. You have my deepest sympathy as you go on to a new chapter of your lives without her.
