Obituary of Herbert Henry Rudy
Herbert Henry Rudy died on December 28, 2022 at Windy Hill Village in Philipsburg, PA.
He was the son of the late Samuel A. Rudy and the late Emeline Brungard Rudy.
He married Catherine Ann Sauers on April 14, 1951. She passed in 1994.
He married Roberta Hillard; she passed in 2016.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Harpster.
He is survived by his two brothers, Ralph Rudy of Rebersburg, PA, and Myron Rudy of State College, PA; one brother-in-law, Harold Harpster; four children and two step-sons, Ken Rudy of State College, Dottie Frank of Medina, OH, Sharon Weaver of PA Furnace, PA, Grace Kibe of Julian, PA, Pat Hillard of Stormstown, and James Hillard of State College, PA.
He has eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, thirteen step-great-grandchildren, and eight step-great-great-grandchildren.
He graduated from State College High School in 1949. He became a farmer and farmed all his life. He loved butchering, hunting, fishing, and playing Santa Claus. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was a kind and gentle father and will be missed very much.
Thank you to all of our family and friends who helped to get Herb wherever he needed to go when sick.
Thank you to Windy Hill Village for taking such wonderful care of him. They are angels.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 pm on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College.
Funeral service will be 10 am on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Whitaker officiating.
Burial will be in Pine Hall Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the organization of the donor's choice.
