Obituary of David Charles Jones

David Charles "Dave" Jones, 43, of State College, died Thursday, July 13, 2023, at home.

Born March 7, 1980, in Fairfax, VA, he was the son of the late Robert G. and Kathryn Briner Jones, Jr.

He is survived by two children, Rayna K. Jones and Jared R. "JJ" Jones, both of State College, the mother of his children, Aubree L Zojonc; two sisters, Dara K. Wanzer and her husband, David, of Oklahoma City, OK and Kay E. Eberz and her husband, Rob, of Lynchburg, VA.

He was a 1998 graduate of Methacton High School. Dave attended Penn State University.

He served in the United States Army from 2002 until 2008 as a Crypto Linguist during the Iraq War. An occupation in which he trained to be fluent in Arabic.

Dave enjoyed playing video games, writing - particularly in journals and reading.

Visitation will be from 10 until 11 a.m., on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 South Atherton Street, State College. Memorial service will follow at 11 a.m., at the funeral home, with Celebrant Jackie Naginey Hook officiating.
