Obituary of Barbara Elizabeth Weaver

Barbara Elizabeth Weaver, 83, of State College, passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Juniper Village at Wellspring.

Born April 11, 1940, in Port Matilda, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Eunice Williams Weaver.

She is survived by her daughter, Heidi Myers and her husband, Andrew, of Etters, PA; and a nephew, Keith Weaver of Milesburg, PA. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Paul Weaver and Don Weaver.

Barbara was a 1958 graduate of Bald Eagle Area High School. For over 50 years, she worked at Pennsylvania State University, including many years at the Palmer Museum of Art serving as the administrative assistant to the Director.

Working in an art museum gave her great joy as she appreciated art and loved to have gatherings with her family and friends at the Palmer Museum. Time spent with her family and friends was cherished by Barbara and she looked forward to the next outing or get together. She enjoyed knitting and especially loved her many cats. Barbara was a member of the Martha Baptist Church and was actively involved with the United Way fundraising campaigns at Penn State University.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m., Tuesday, August 29, 2023 at Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton St., State College, PA.

Funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 pm with the Reverend Samuel Reese officiating.

A private burial will be in Williams Cemetery.
