First, let me express my sorrow for your loss. I grew up on Rousseau Ave. , in Fort Wayne In. We lived across the street from Randy and Bessie Robertson. Their children were grown and moved away in my earliest memories. Bessie passed away when I was about 8 yrs old. Our mother would send us over to visit Mr. Robertson (Randy) with goodies that she would make for him. I grew to love that house. I bought it in 1989. last summer we had to tear down the brick front porch because the mortar was crumbling. We found an old broken mason (ball) canning jar with a letter from Bessie next to it. It included the date the house was built in 1924 and the porch was added on in 1927. Also some pieces of material from dresses she made She called them goods. I'm old enough to know what 'goods " are. my 30 yr old son asked what goods were lol she talked about her kids and gave their ages. Elizabeth was 12 . Ester was 10. and Maurice was 7. if anyone would like to have this time capsule we found, I would love for the family to have it. you can contact me by e mail or phone. 260-241-0680
sincerely, Patty Lambert (Perkins) 2900 Rousseau Av. Fort Wayne In. 46802
