Obituary of Elizabeth Gouty

Elizabeth J. Gouty 99 a resident of State College, died on January 19, 2014 at Green Hills Village in State College. Born October 11, 1914 in Fort Wayne, Indiana she was the daughter of the late Randolph C. and Bessie Johnson Robertson. On October 17, 1936 she married Walter C. Gouty who preceded her in death on November 8, 1981. She is survived by 3 sons, Carl D. Gouty of Huntsville, Alabama, Doyle K. Gouty and his wife Jean of Perrysburg, Ohio and Lee W. Gouty and his wife Carol of State College. Elizabeth was preceded in death by a brother and sister, Maurice E. Robertson and Esther R. Inman. Elizabeth is also survived by 4 grandchildren Doug, Matt, Chris and Kathy Gouty Elizabeth attended International Business College in Fort Wayne Indiana from 1933 thru 1935, studying to be a Private Secretary. She was employed by Tokheim Pump Corp. from 1936 to 1939 as an office clerk, and from 1955 until her retirement in 1971 she was the office manager at Cutters Chalet in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was a member of the State College Presbyterian Church and formerly a member of the Westfield Presbyterian Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana for 60 years. Friends will be received at the Koch Funeral Home, 2401 S. Atherton Street on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 from 11 a.m. until noon. A funeral service will follow in the funeral home at 12 noon with Rev. Joel T. Blunk officiating.
