Dear Mr. and Mrs. Lockhart, Don, Joe and Terri. I am so sorry to hear of "Gram's" passing. She was always so kind to me and treated me like family. I remember walking in the back door, always smelling something awesome in or on the stove. She always would tell me, "sit down and eat". (she never had to ask twice, she was an incredible cook). Gram was always interested in what I was up to, and how family was doing, and had a warm smile that I will NEVER forget. She had a work ethic that I have not seen repeated to this day. I will sorely miss her, and will always be thankful that she and Pap were in my life. I will always cherish my memories of Pap and Gram Pettingill.

The students at State High South Building called Eva "grandma" and watched out for her while she worked in the cafeteria. She was a lovely lady and will be missed by many.

What a dear sweet lady Eva was. She always came into the south building every day with a smile on her face, worried about how her hair looked due to the wind blowing and was as cute as ever but always ready to get started. She was a beautiful, kind soul. She enjoyed being with the students and the students enjoyed her as well. She will be missed. Our deepest sympathy to the family. May you always have good memories.

My God Bless you and your family with wonderful memories of Eva. I work at the High School South Office and enjoyed talking to Eva each and everyday, she reminded me so much of my own grandmother. She was always positive and very caring to all of the staff and students. Sending prayers to all of you at this time,

Eva was one of the lunch lady's in the south cafeteria at state high when I was there a couple of years ago. She was constantly hardworking and shocked all of us students everyday. She always asked me how my day was and put a smile on my face. State high will truly miss her. She was such a great addiction to the cafeteria staff.

Patty, Bill and Terri...Deepest condolences to all of you. I have such nice memories of my Aunt Eva, spending many summers at her house with you Pat in the summertime, getting in trouble for eating her tomatoes out of her garden. Good memories that I will always cherish. I love you guys.
