I worked with Effie a long time ago, in the 1980s, and she always made me smile. Effie had the ability to make others feel better and laugh at themselves. I am glad I had the opportunity to know her.

Effie was my dear friend and always ready to listen to any concerns I had about my husband Ron. She was with me through the long hospital stay and always there with a kind word. I will miss her. She is now with the angels.

Dear Effie:
May you have peace, joy and angel wings in Heaven. You were my dear friend and classmate. Thank you for all of the support you gave me during my life in State College. You saw me through many of my worst days and my best when raising my children and taking care of my husband Bob, who passed away in 2011. You were so kind, a great listener , advisor and best friend. I will miss you so much.

Effie was a great lady! She became an extended part of our family the last 5 years or so due to dialysis. Effie please know we will miss you a lot, and I know you are in heaven laughing and celebrating with my dad. Love ya special lady!
