I was so very saddened to hear of your Mother's passing. We have been out of town for the birth of a grandchild and I just found out. I have many fond memories of your Mother over the years. We were lucky to have our parents friends so involved in our lives. After my mother died I would receive notes from your mother or calls when we moved back to the area to just check on us.She was such a caring person and will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

It was so nice hearing about Phyllis on Tuesday. Now I understand where Cindy, Erin, and Peter got some of your qualities. While she will be missed greatly, she lives on in each of you. Take comfort in each other and in Tom, David and Aimee. Family is the most important thing we have, and Phyllis (and Woody) created a very special one. Cherish the memories. My thoughts are with you all.

Cindy,
Just wanted to let you know how sad I was to hear of your mom's passing. I'm confident tho that my mom was there along with you Dad, brother and many others, to greet her with open arms. I will always remember your mom's kind smile and gentle way. That Nimitz Ave. block will never be the same.
Sending a hug,
Bonnie Heebner

Dear Cindy, Tom, Erin, David, Peter and Aimee,
My heart goes out to all of you. I believe no one ever dies. They move on to a new place and that life is eternal. They are always with us and their love surrounds us throughout our lives until we see them once again. I did not know Phyllis but I feel like I knew her through you. May God help you through this difficult time and give you peace knowing she is in His loving arms. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Much love and God's Blessings now and always.

Cindy, Tom, Erin and David, Peter and Aimee,
Phyllis was such a wonderful example of mixing graciousness and tenderness with a toughness that saw her through so much. But she didn't just get through. She looked the most difficult challenges straight in the eye, conquered them, and came out the other side with her delightful smile and a wink, as she delivered clever punchlines, usually at her own expense. Nothing meant more to her than her family, as you all know. She chose to focus on the positive, and her family was her lifetime joy. Your many happy memories will keep her with you always.

Dear Cindy, Tom and Family,
We have been so privileged to be Phyllis and Woody's neighbors for the last fourteen years. We often spoke over the nominal wooden fence between our yards. Phyllis and Woody were so warm and welcoming to us when we arrived, and forever after, watching over the house when we were away on trips, and over us when we weren't. We would often find their unheralded gifts by our front door - like Phyllis's unforgettable lemon and black-walnut cake. We will miss their friendship and kindness so profoundly and send our deepest condolences.

I will always remember Phyllis's beautiful smile and sunny disposition. A warm and gracious lady, she also had resolve and tenancity, and managed the challenges in her life with grace and quitetude. These are qualities she has passed along to her accomplished daughter and grandchildren. She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
